Going more natural

Hey everyone

I hope that you are all doing well and have had a great week so far. I am doing well, still going to physical therapy for my neck and still going more natural

So previously I shared with you all the wonderful things I have been learning about using natural items to cleanse my face. I am still to this day using my honey wash/mask and oils to cleanse my face. Still no major breakouts no extra oil and no moisturizer. The only thing I have put on my face that wasn’t from mother nature is a little bit of make-up. Still very happy with these methods and want to give so much thanks to Leslie at Crunchy Betty for opening my eyes and making it so easy to start.

So now I have started another natural cleaning method for my hair. They are the no ‘poo and sorta ‘poo that Leslie talks about on her site. I started with the sorta ‘poo and used Dr. Bronners Peppermint Castile for a couple of weeks. I have started doing the no ‘poo this week. I will probably only use the castile again when I do an oil mask or get too much in my hair from my oil cleansed face wash, I can be dangerous sometimes lol. I am trying out a few different things to control frizz since I have this crazy curly hair and live in the middle of …The Land of Humidity!!, gotta love the south

Layout to share

So before I show you my new layout and the kit I used… I wanted to share about the Honey wash from my previous post.

I am still using the two different Honey Wash methods from Crunch Betty. I havent had any extra breakouts, felt dry or needed to use any moisturizer I am very happy with it so far. I did order more oils to start an oil cleaning method. Now I know that sounds funny, me with oily skin, cleaning it with oil but you have to read this post. So anyway, I bought some oils from GNC to mix and try based on the recommendations in Crunchy Bettys post. I will let you know how it goes and what I used soon.

I am still around

I havent posted in a looooong while. Life has been busy since the first of the year. Busy with work, family life and in April I had neck surgery. Im good now, doing physical therapy and stuff.

I want to check in and let you all know that I am still alive

Also I wanted to share with you a great site I found called Crunchy Betty. It is a site that I have been reading alot and trying some of the things that Leslie talks about. Have you ever wanted to try more natural cleansers, remedies for your face and home? Then you should check out Crunchy Betty.

I am one of those people with oily skin and have all those wonderful continuous break-outs (even at 37). After reading these two posts from Leslie I have decided to try a natural approach to my face

The first one I read was about Honey Face Wash and then because I wear make-up I learned even more by reading Removing Your Makeup Honey Face Wash.

So I started this the other night and so far I love it. My face feels great and don’t have to use moisturizer!! Like I saidI have oily skin so someone with dry might feel they need it. I will continue to use this for a while more and let you know how it goes. I am very excited and hope that I can get my skin on track.

Hope everyone is doing well and having a good week. Mine is pretty good. We did some recruiting earlier this week for our cub scout pack, lots of new boys added to our great group The second half of my week has been pretty laid back at home (we wont talk about work lol).So anyway, I did these layouts a while back but forgot to share them with you So here goes

First is Amber Waves. These are pictures I took to show our son how cool everything looks when you are up on a mountain and can see everything around. The reason I did this was because he spent most of his time with his nose in his Nintendo DS I loved driving in the mountains when I was a kid, it was something I always looked forward to and still do!

Something I Discovered :)

So I have been wanting to share this with you forever now and I keep forgetting, surprising I know LOL (not).

I am sure you have all figured this out a long time ago and I am just now catching up, would not surprise me lol

Anyway…
So one day I was cooking something that I wanted to add sliced mushrooms to, because they are good in everything!
I had bought fresh mushrooms, but the whole ones because they always look better. So I wiped them own and then started to slice them when all at once I thought there has to be an easier way. Then it hit me, its easy to slice eggs with the right tool, right?
So yep you got it, I whipped out my handy dandy egg slicer. Which I also use for strawberrys 

I went from having pretty whole mushrooms…

To having lovely slices!

All by using my egg slicer!!
 

How nifty is that! I will never slice mushrooms with a knife again!
